Let's get started!
As a new #teamlidl member, you'll learn the daily tasks associated with your role and the company's procedures. We want you to feel supported from the start.
To achieve this, you'll have the support of your manager, your trainer, and your mentor, in addition to the entire #teamlidl, who will be available to assist you!
On your first day within your work unit, you'll receive your training plan, which takes into account your previous experience and your onboarding role. This training plan is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform your future role effectively. The training programme is very detailed and comprehensive, as it consists of a mix of e-learning content and shadowing sessions with various colleagues, including other departments you'll be collaborating with. It's therefore important that you also understand their activities. Throughout your journey, your manager will be by your side to ensure your onboarding and training phases run smoothly and that you feel fully prepared for your future operational duties.
Your training is split...
To ensure a thorough understanding of retail operations, a week of in-store training is provided, covering all facets of shop floor activities. This is further complemented by a day spent at the Logistics Centre, providing insight into the backend storage and delivery feeding our outlets.
For Head Office personnel, this hands-on experience is crucial, fostering a deeper appreciation for the operational realities and challenges faced by store and logistics teams. This direct exposure ensures a holistic understanding of the business, promoting collaboration and empathy across departments.
