In 2023, we inaugurated our brand new, state-of-the-art head offices in Burmarrad, marking a significant milestone in Lidl Malta's journey.

This move, coinciding with our 15th anniversary on the island, underscored our commitment to both growth and providing an enhanced working environment for our dedicated team. These modern offices, which became the central hub for our administrative and operational functions, incorporated several exciting upgrades and benefits, fostering a collaborative and efficient atmosphere, reflecting our ongoing investment in our infrastructure and our people, solidifying our presence in Malta.

Owen Direttore

At the heart of Lidl Malta's operations is our Director, Owen Micallef, who oversees and guides every aspect of our work here. His leadership ensures that all departments, from logistics and sales to administration and HR, operate seamlessly. Essentially, he's the captain of our ship, the driving force behind our strategic direction, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

Of course, no captain sails alone. Owen is supported by our dedicated Leadership Team, a group of six experienced Executives who expertly manage our various departments. Their collaborative approach and shared commitment are invaluable, ensuring that every area of Lidl Malta operates efficiently and effectively, allowing us to navigate the challenges and seize the opportunities that come our way.

Our Communications and CSR department is the voice of Lidl Malta, managing all aspects of our internal and external communications. From public relations and media enquiries to crafting engaging internal messages that keep our team informed and connected. The team also drives our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

Facility

The Facility Department is the team that keeps our physical spaces in top condition. They're responsible for a wide range of crucial tasks, from overseeing the meticulous renovations and maintaining of our existing stores to managing the opening brand new locations.

Human Resources

Our Human Resources (HR) department is structured to provide comprehensive support to all our employees, and is divided into three key teams; Administration and Legal, Training and Recruitment and Employee Engagement. Together, they ensure that our people are supported, developed, and valued.

Our Purchasing Department plays a vital role in ensuring we offer our customers the best possible value. They meticulously analyse the market, constantly monitoring trends and competitor activity, allowing them to ensure our product range maintains an optimal price-quality ratio.
